Join Gleeson Constructors & Engineers, LLC, a national design-build firm with over 45 years of experience specializing in food processing and cold storage construction. We’re hiring skilled Carpenters to join our team on the Crystal Distribution Services Production Room Addition in Waterloo, Iowa.

This is a commercial-scale, fast-paced project with structural concrete, slab-on-grade, dock work, insulated metal panels, and USDA-compliant finish details.

💵 Pay & Perks

• $23–$32/hour, depending on experience
• Weekly paydays every Friday
• Full-time, Overtime
• Plenty of work + room for advancement
• Work directly for Gleeson—we’re the design-build contractor on this project

🛠️ What You'll Do

• Build and install concrete formwork for shallow spread footings, foundation walls, and slabs
• Install insulated metal panel (IMP) systems for USDA-approved environments
• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and construction drawings
• Accurately layout and measure for structural components and anchoring systems
• Install interior and exterior doors, including dock-height overhead and personnel doors
• Build concrete curbs, dock landings, and tie-ins to existing paving
• Construct stairs, scaffold, safety rails, and temporary structures as needed
• Perform interior framing and finish carpentry as specified

✅ Requirements

• Commercial carpentry experience required—this is not general labor
• Familiarity with concrete formwork, insulated panels, and USDA-grade detailing
• Ability to lift 75 lbs, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in various conditions
• Must follow all safety standards and PPE requirements
• Able to work independently or as part of a team to meet project timelines
• Drug screen and physical required post-offer

🎯 Preferred Skills

• Experience with concrete curbs, slab prep, or dock-height structures
• Knowledge of metal framing, wall and ceiling panels, and layout tools
• Ability to work from lift equipment and safely operate hand and power tools
• Able to read and follow blueprints
