DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Placing forms that hold concrete to ensure the required depth and pitch is received.
  • Monitoring the effect heat, wind and cold have on curing concrete to ensure high-quality results.
  • Molding and removing edges on expansion joints and sides.
  • Installing anchor bolts, steel plates and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete.
  • Polishing surfaces using smoothing materials, abrasive tools, and surfacing machines.
  • Aligning forms for sidewalks, curbs, and gutters.
  • Waterproofing, damp-proofing and restoring concrete surfaces.
  • Compacting materials using power vibrators to create leveled bases.
  • Finishing concrete surfaces with rough or smooth patterns depending on the customers preference.
  • Signaling truck drivers and moving chutes to facilitate pouring concrete onto forms.
  • Casting and spreading concrete to patch voids.
  • Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete.
  • Mixing concrete to correct specifications.
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA
  • Assist construction / paving crew with various duties such as; shoveling, raking and running wheelbarrow.
  • Perform general labor duties when necessary.
  • Perform daily pre-and-post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Assist in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience preferred.
  • Must know how to use hand-held and power tools like cutting saws, power vibrators, polishers, and edging tools.
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of mathematics and basic calculations
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with others.
  • Perform with minimum supervision
  • Perform heavy physical work, often under adverse weather conditions.
  • Available to work overtime.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot potential issues.

WORK REQUIREMENTS:

  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Be able to provide valid documentation for I-9 Documents (DL, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate)
  • Report to work at the designated start time.
  • Willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This is a "Full-time" hourly position paying the following range $18-22. These rates are dependent upon skill set and experience. The following benefits are included after a 90-day probation period:
