Position Overview: We are currently seeking a motivated Estimator Intern to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for construction to gain hands-on experience in estimating while working alongside industry professionals. The Estimator Intern will assist in accurately estimating project costs, analyzing blueprints and specifications, and supporting the bidding process.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in reviewing project plans, specifications, and requirements to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to gather necessary information for estimates.
  • Analyze project risks and opportunities to provide recommendations for cost-effective solutions.
  • Support the bidding process by preparing bid packages, soliciting subcontractor quotes, and participating in bid review meetings.
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, including updates and revisions as necessary.
  • Assist in preparing project budgets and cost reports to track project expenses.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry practices preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior internship or coursework related to construction estimating is a plus.
