Casella Construction is looking for hardworking and motivated Fleet Diesel Truck Mechanic to work our off hours shift of 3pm to 12:30am, at our shop in Pittsford, VT. This position is eligible for a 10% shift differential pay. The Fleet Diesel Truck Mechanic is responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance and minor to major repairs on our diverse fleet which consists of Mack triaxle dump trucks, Kenworth T880 Diesel and T800 Liquid Natural Gas tractors. The Fleet Diesel Truck Mechanic would also be working on our trailers as well: live floor, dump and lowboy trailers. We offer our employees the opportunity to grow personally and professionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform repairs along with assigned preventive maintenance services on all fleet vehicles (Diesel and LNG tractors, trailers, and other related parts).
  • Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection reports.
  • Complete all paperwork on fleet vehicles utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, parts usage and repair times.

Qualifications:

  • Diesel engine repair work of 2 years preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Considerable knowledge in equipment maintenance and repair gained through formal training or on the job experience
  • Class A and or Class B CDL desirable
  • Must be able to handle major repairs
  • Experience with both tractor and trailer PMs and repairs.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge
  • Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to squat, bend and work in confined areas for extended periods of time
  • Must have own tools
