 Job Description

Summary/Objective

The intern participates in assisting the Marketing department with various marketing initiatives and aids in providing sales support to all the divisions and companies within the Houck group of companies.

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Assist with marketing campaigns for the Houck companies/divisions – Restoration, Roofing, Roof Maintenance, Houck Greencastle, Mechanical, Electrical, ACi Construction, Agar, and Bitner Electric
  2. Perform follow-up activities to support the various marketing campaigns (i.e. phone calls, emails, etc.)
  3. Perform cold calls to acquire new business
  4. Aid in the process of setting up meetings with new potential customers (via phone calls, emails, etc.)
  5. Perform investigative research to identify the key contacts of our target, new business prospects
  6. Assist in the creation of signage, mailers, brochures, e-mail campaigns, online promotions, etc.
  7. Assist in the distribution or delivery of marketing materials
  8. Assist with the execution of trade shows
  9. Seek and analyze competitor marketing and sales materials both on and offline
  10. Prepare presentations
  11. Provide support to social media efforts
  12. Utilize ZoomInfo to pull pertinent contact information and update various lists
  13. Perform contact management system cleanup as necessary

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory requirements.

 Position Type

Part-Time/Full-Time depending on class schedule.

 Required Education and Experience

College student majoring in Sales, Business Development, or Marketing.

 Travel

Some travel is expected for this position.  A valid driver’s license is required.

 Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office and “open cubicle” environment.  The use of computers, printers, telephones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets, and fax machines is required.

 Physical Demands

The described physical demands below must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the ability to sit and/or stand for long periods; sit, stand, and walk for long periods at trade shows/conferences, the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., pull and/or lift trade show booth components and miscellaneous items and boxes, bend and stand when necessary. Typing on, operating, and looking at a computer for long periods is also required.  Operating and speaking on the phone is also required.
