General Description:
Tolin Mechanical, an established, well recognized and respected HVAC service contractor, is looking for an experienced Project Controls Installer to join our Denver Branch
. We are seeking a candidate who meets the qualifications listed below.

We have a solid team of experienced and respected technicians. Our business continues to grow, and we are looking for a solid Project Controls Installer that is interested in a long-term position and who will fit well into our team.

Our Project Controls Installer are responsible for installing, retrofitting, and replacing HVAC equipment, controls, and related equipment as assigned in a timely, high quality manner.

 

Summary of Job Functions:

  • Technical:
    • Installation and demolition of controllers, electrical conduit/routing/enclosures, wiring, controls-related devices/sensors, supporting materials
    • Functional testing and commissioning of controllers and devices
    • Troubleshooting and diagnostic of new and existing controls systems
    • Special projects and mechanical assistance as needed
  • Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of HVAC systems including Heating and Chiller plants, VAV systems, AHU/RTU and terminal box functionality
    • Interpret mechanical and controls drawings, sequences and design intent
    • Assistance/research of project layout/engineering/design
    • Provide quality as-built notes
    • Identify additional controls opportunities and deficiencies
    • Sales assistance/research as needed
  • Leadership:
    • Take ownership of assigned projects and workmanship
    • Share knowledge and assist inexperienced installers
    • Ensure quality installation and commissioning/checkout standards
    • Manage time to ensure timely project completion and keeping productive
  • Interpersonal:
    • Develop positive relationships with customers
    • Maintain good working relationships within Tolin with proactive communication within the controls team and mechanical team
    • Communicate and schedule directly with customers as required
  • Logistical:
    • Time management and planning of day-to-day assignments
    • Ensure you have the tools and materials required for your upcoming work
    • Purchasing of supporting job materials not provided or planned

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ continuous years of controls installation
  • 10+ years of HVAC experience
  • Experience troubleshooting new and existing electrical controls circuits and devices
  • Extensive technical knowledge of HVAC systems (pressure dependent/independent VAV, chilled and hot water, various terminal air units, specialty equipment etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop rapport and productive working relationships with clients, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Strong organization and time management/planning skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ continuous years of controls installation
  • 5+ years of HVAC experience
  • Over 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Strong written and verbal English skills
  • Valid driver's license with driving record in good standing
  • Can pass federal background checks for government work

Compensation & Benefits:

Average Starting Rate: $40.00-$43.00/hour. Combined experience, education, skills and knowledge will be taken into consideration.
