Starting Rates: $17 to $19 / Hour Depending on Experience Level

Position Description:

This is not your typical warehouse position. A Warehouse Representative at Johnstone Supply Grimme Group works alongside a team of 5 to 15 within one of our branch locations. This position has a crucial responsibility to ensure efficient operations at the branch and to ensure a great customer experience.  They are responsible for performing various duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, and managing, organizing, and retrieving stock and other items.

 

 

Position Responsibilities: 

• Manages warehouse inventory and maintains company database
• Receive and process incoming product shipments and unload delivery trucks
• Ensures shipments are inspected, and any damages are noted and documented
• Initiates records as products enter and leave the warehouse through a computerized inventory control system
• Stores products in proper locations
• Receives, pulls, and adequately prepares all customer orders
• Utilizes forklift, pallet jacks, and other equipment when needed to store or pull inventory
• Monitors equipment to ensure safety and reports any issues to the supervisor
• Helps load products on a delivery truck or for customer
• Ensures the safety of the warehouse by keeping it clean and free of potential hazards
• Assists with training of new employees
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

• Proficient in using the company's inventory system
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage priorities effectively and prioritizes tasks based on importance
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to navigate and resolve internal and external challenging situations effectively and resourcefully
• Basic skills in the use of Microsoft Office products
• Basic math skills to manage and maintain inventory
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, co-workers, and stakeholders
• Skill in using web-based tools to research products and information
• Knowledge of HVAC products, concepts, and industry as a whole a plus

 

Qualifications:   

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Material handlers require certification and continuous training to operate heavy-lifting machinery like forklifts
• Ability to be certified in forklift operation

 

Physical Demands of the Job:

• Lifting, moving, carrying up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to climb stairs/ladders
• Ability to push/pull inventory items
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and occasionally crawl in confined spaces
