We are looking to hire an Accountant/Assistant Controller
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
- Prepare bank reconciliations.
- Prepare month end close and compile financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Oversee accounts payable and purchasing for the company.
- Manage project contract administration and monthly contract billing.
- Review monthly state sales tax returns, accounts receivable, journal entries, general ledgers.
- Gather accounting data monthly to compile financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Assist CFO with annual budget.
- Prepare annual year-end audit schedule.
- Year-end work paper binders
- Prepare and file all required corporate and government reports.
- Maintain all business licenses, and contractor licenses.
- Provide a full range of accounting support.
- Organize and maintain both electronic and physical document files.
- Deliver monthly reports with financial statistics and results for all Projects.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 3 years' accounting/finance experience
- Experience with all aspects of finance function including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Cash management experience
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
- High degree of personal integrity
- A friendly positive attitude and a courteous professional demeanor
- Personal qualities include attentiveness, initiative, and dependability.
- Associate degree or currently enrolled in a degree program relating to finance/Accounting.
- Recent Experience with full charge Bookkeeping and/or QuickBooks required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Must have recent Quickbooks experience. Experience managing at least one person preferable.
