Paid Corporate Internship, May-Aug 2016 - Container Industry
The Mauser USA LLC Sales and Marketing group has several opportunities in East Brunswick, NJ, Houston, TX and Chicago (Addison), IL for interns for the 2016 Mid-May through Mid-August internship season. This is an ideal role for college juniors who plan to graduate in December 2016 or May 2017. Seniors graduating in May 2016 may also be considered for possible hire in September 2016.
MAUSER is a leading global supplier of industrial packaging solutions, manufacturing a variety of plastic, steel and fiber containers for a diverse customer base spanning industries including oil & gas, food & beverage, pharmaceutical and chemical, amongst others. MAUSER is experiencing significant growth – both organically as well as through acquisition – therefore the opportunities for successful individuals can be significant.
MAUSER is considering an IPO within the next few fiscal quarters which is one of the key reasons for the addition of these roles. Transitioning to a publicly traded company provides both opportunities as well as learning challenges and you will be part of an important change-management process as we incorporate newly required controls and procedures. Regardless of its IPO status, MAUSER has recognized the need to introduce and maintain more consistent, efficient and standardized processes throughout its operations. The organization has experienced significant revenue, volume, facility and people growth over the last decade and expects this growth trajectory to continue.
This paid internship is designed to give applicants an introduction to Mauser, the container industry, and the functions and processes of sales support client representatives. Interns will be given projects and assignments based on the following topics:
- Product Knowledge- You will spend time in local area plants learning products and processes
- Industry Knowledge- You will accompany Regional Sales Representatives as they visit clients and make sales calls.
- Customer Service- You will learn how the customer service group interacts with the sales team, operations, quality assurance, procurement etc.
- Sales Support Representatives (SSR) – You will spend time with SSR’s to understand SOX compliance, Index adjustments, quality documentation etc.
- Costing/Pricing You will learn about product costs and how pricing is determined
Required Education and Attributes
- University and College Juniors or Seniors who are currently enrolled in a business, marketing, sales engineering or related curriculum with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong level of enthusiasm and desire for continuous learning
- Positive attitude and willingness to perform research, administrative and special project assignments
- A strong desire and ability to progress in a growing organization
- Ability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced, changing work environment
- Demonstrated competency in working in a positive, team-oriented environment
- Strong desire to complete projects with a sense of urgency; always looking for next opportunity; to get involved and add value
- Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
