We are looking for a data governance lead consultant to lead data governance and analytics assessments, which includes facilitating interview sessions with business and technical users, analyzing the business and technical requirements and creating a comprehensive strategy and plan to meet our client’s business needs. This individual must be a strong data governance lead and be focused on assessing our client’s environment and requirements and designing Data Governance solutions and services to support full lifecycle Data Governance implementations.  The consultant will create Data Governance (DG) project charters, lead DG implementations, lead organizational design, lead change management, help create data driven cultures that treat data as a strategic asset that require Data Quality and Data Management disciplines and focus.  A key component of this person’s responsibility will also be ‘pre-sales’ support, including face to face meetings with Catch customers, supporting the Catch sales team with prospective clients. This role will also be responsible for supporting our clients with putting together Data Governance programs and strategies and must have previous Data Governance leadership mentoring experience. This role will also require strong organizational skills to build out our DG library of reusable assets and methodologies. Training, coaching, and mentoring skills will be required to mentor internal and external staff.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead activities around Data Governance, assessments, strategies, data quality management and mentoring customers on how to implement DG programs. This position will work closely with clients to create or enhance DG programs and to help customers mature their DG capabilities.  The DG lead consultant will help lead customers in the process of implementing these CATCH Intelligence reusable deliverables and processes for customers.  Below is the list of the framework, templates and tools that will be implemented from customer to customer:

  • Data Governance Implementation Framework and Roadmap applying Industry Best Practices and Reusable Deliverable Templates to help accelerate your Data Governance Program Implementation efforts and reduce costs
  • Data Governance Overview Presentation - Education to Executive level sponsors and Core Data Governance Team
  • Data Governance Charter (A foundational document with Data Governance Mission, Vision, Policies, Standards, Enterprise Information Management Guidelines, Objectives, Roles & Responsibilities)
  • Enterprise Information Management Guiding Principles
  • Data Governance Program Backlog (Data-related Issues, Needs and Opportunities collected from Business Community and organized into themes such as Data Quality, Data Acquisition, Data Standardization, Data Security, Big Data, etc.)
  • Initial Scope for the Data Governance Program and Pilot Project (e.g. Selection of 1 or 2 Quick Win ideas to implement – a way to pilot the act of governing by the business over their data and piloting of the related data governance processes)
  • Communication/Change Management Plan
  • Data Governance Org Structure (Decision Making Authority) Defined/Confirmed (Executive and Work Group Levels)
  • Data Governance Work Group formed to include business and I/T leaders and subject matter experts
  • Overview of the traditional roles and responsibilities of being a Data Steward provided to the Data Governance Work Group

    Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Evaluate, recommend and implement DG methodologies, frameworks, templates, and tools to meet technical and business requirements
  • Strong knowledge and hands on experience development data governance programs
  • Excellent customer communication and pre-sales experience
  • Previous experience implementing Data Governance processes, procedures and methodologies is required
  • Hands on experience with leading DG tools is desired
  • Detail oriented with excellent organization and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, project team members, supervisors, and employees from other departments.
  • Bachelor*s degree in computer science, information system, computer engineering or equivalent working experience is required
  • 5+ years working experience in data governance and data environments
    3+ years experience as a Data Governance lead

Note: This is a full-time salaried position.  MUST be able to travel 30% or more!
